“You must go to Oradour.”
The advice came from a friend as I talked about a forthcoming vacation to France.
The ultimate destination was the Dordogne where a cosy gite was waiting for an extended stay. En route we had decided to lay up for a couple of days a few miles north of Limoges.
That’s when Oradour entered the conversation.
